Kossuth Growing Healthy Kids

Kossuth Growing Healthy Kids

Kossuth Growing Healthy Kids is a home visitation program for expecting and new parents that is committed to supporting parents so they can give their children the best gift of all - a loving, nurturing family.

The goals of the program are to promote:

  • Positive parent-child interaction
  • Child health and development
  • Family coping and learning with new baby

Kossuth Growing Healthy Kids helps families experience success by providing quality services using evidence-based outcomes such as:

  • Information and education about babies and children, and what to expect of them
  • Parenting tips on how to nurture your new baby as well as other children in your home.

This program is available free to area families as a voluntary service, thanks to funding from Community Health of Kossuth Regional Health Center, Early Childhood North Central Iowa Empowerment and the Iowa Department of Public Health.

The mission of Kossuth Growing Healthy Kids is to promote and enhance the healthy development of children and families in Kossuth County.  Research has demonstrated that home visitation programs are successful in addressing a host of family issues such as health, development, school readiness, nurturing families and safe and secure communities.  This program does not discriminate.
